Below is the general layout of Wildwood Cemetery. Over the last hundred years,
there have been few changes; some lawns have been added and an arboretum has
been planted. However, Wildwood preserves its original nineteenth century
flavor.
Directions to Wildwood:
From points east and west:
Get on Rte.90/MA Turnpike. Take Exit 4 for I-91 North.
Follow 91N and take Exit 19 in Northampton for Route 9E, toward Amherst.
Continue on 9E through Hadley, for approximately 8 miles total.
From points north and south:
Take I-91 to exit 19 in Northampton
and follow directions above.
Once in Amherst:
In Amherst center, coming east on Rte.9, take a left at the light
(at the top of a hill) onto East Pleasant Street. Continue through the
town through
three sets of lights. Pass Chesnut Street and take the next right onto
Strong
Street at the sign for 'Wildwood School'. The Wildwood Cemetery driveway is
directly across the street from the Wildwood School driveway; take the
driveway by the pond. Drive up the hill and feel free to stop and
check in at the cemetery office in the brick house.
